Cogne is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in the Alps. The valley preserves habitats of great charm, largely within the Gran Paradiso National Park, populated by a rich fauna.
The right side of the valley hosts a variety of plant species including some rare flora of the region.
Even the man-made environment is of great interest, cogneins have been able to preserve inhabited by over-building development, and so the villages still retain the characteristics of a time, with traditional houses carefully restored.
